Security

Built so only your code can open your files

Files are encrypted in your browser before they ever leave your device.

End-to-end encryption by default

Every file you upload to QickShare is encrypted locally in your browser using AES-256-GCM. Encryption happens before your files leave your device. The encrypted bytes travel to our servers, but the encryption key does not.

Your 6-digit code is never sent to us

Your code is the master key to your files. We never ask for it, store it, or transmit it to our servers. Instead, only a one-way cryptographic hash of your code is sent to look up your share. This hash is mathematically irreversible — even QickShare cannot reverse it back to your actual code. Only your device and the receiving device know the real code needed to decrypt your files. This is why a code-based system is more secure than passwords or login credentials.

Automatic expiry eliminates lingering data

Every share automatically expires 10 minutes after you upload, and all associated files are permanently deleted from our servers. You don't have to manually delete anything — it happens automatically. This severely limits how long your files exist anywhere beyond your own device, and ensures that old or forgotten shares don't accumulate on our systems.

No account required

QickShare doesn't require registration or login, so temporary shares are not attached to a user account. Service and advertising providers may still process limited technical and usage data as described in the Privacy Policy.

What QickShare does NOT have access to

We cannot see your files, cannot read your file contents, cannot decrypt your encrypted uploads, cannot intercept your code, and cannot read your messages. We have no access to your device or personal information. We only know that a file was uploaded and when it expires — nothing about what the file contains or who sent it.
